Jose Sison Luzadas, a member of the Knights of Rizal, recently shared some "Notable Quotables." I'd like to pass them on, and, perhaps, later, add some more:
"Know thyself" (Socrates)
"I'm not a crook!" (President Richard Nixon)
"Millionaires do not steal!" (Filipina Senator Pacita Warnes Gonzales)
"The news of my death has been greatly exaggerated." (Mark Twain whose obituary he read in some newspaper.)
"Veni, Vedi, Veci" ("I came, I saw, I conquered!" -- Julius Caesar)
"I shall return!" (Douglas MacArthur)

It is the people who get things done who get the most criticism from the people who do nothing.
Rumor writes faster than truth can erase.
One man tells a falsehood and it eventually become "true" when a hundred people repeat it.
The best prophet of the future is the past.
The camel driver has his plans; so does the camel.
Yesterday's victories are less important than your plans for tomorrow.
Easy street is a blind alley.
I can handle my friends, but Lord, deliver me from my enemies!
The daylight has ears while the darkness has only fears.
Every purchase has its price.
'Tis better to risk saving a guilty person than to condemn an innocent one.
The only place to find a window that cleans people is at the racetrack.
Death is nature's way of saying "slow down."
Life is perpetual drunkenness; the pleasure passes quickly but the headache remains.
I'm not afraid to die; I just don't want to be there when it happens.
We can deliver anything, anytime, anywhere (except babies). - Ad for a moving company.

Welcome to this Sari-Sari Place

Welcome to this place where various and sundry blogs on things related to the Philippines will be posted. I hope that you will enjoy my blog and I would love to hear from you. I am soon going to begin work toward a master's degree in history at North Carolina Central University and hope to better appreciate the history of the Philippines, my second home. I would love to hear from you.
